Gerald A. ""Jerry"" Woltman
CANTON – Gerald A. ""Jerry"" Woltman, age 78, died Monday after a short illness. Born in Lorain, he had lived in Canton most of his life. He was a 1959 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Engineering. Jerry retired from the Timken Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Canton Art Institute, The Wilderness Center and McKinley Eagles Aerie 2370. Jerry served as a board member of the Canton Y.M.C.A., Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Stark State College and was involved with Junior Achievement, and the Eastwood Home Owners Association. He enjoyed being outdoors especially golf, tennis, boating, fishing, hiking, flying, traveling and painting. He was a United States Army veteran.
Survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine Woltman and Anthony Cambria of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Karen Woltman of Pine, Arizona and Denise and Jerry Bartlett of Seattle, Washington, son, Mark Woltman and fiancée, Nancy Beck of Alliance, two grandchildren, Nicholas and Adeline Cambria, former spouse, Ann Marie Woltman of Sheffield Lake, three brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas Woltman of Amherst, Donald and Nancy Woltman of Lorain and John Woltman of California, companion, Carla Petty of Canton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Adeline Woltman.
Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church in Canton for a Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Leo Wehrlin as celebrant. Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home in Canton.
