Robert J. Quinlan Obituary

AVON LAKE - Robert J. Quinlan, age 86, of Avon Lake, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. John Medical Center, Westlake.
He was born August 14, 1927, in Hicksville, N.Y., and moved to Avon Lake in 1964.
He served his country in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a photographer. Mr. Quinlan was employed as a photographer at the Plain Dealer, N.B.C.; Channel 61, and retired from Lorain City Schools where he taught audio-visual classes. He also did freelance work. Robert was a cameraman for the movies, "A Christmas Story" and "One Trick Pony." He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake, and American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake. In addition to his lifelong passion for photography, he enjoyed traveling and camping.
Mr. Quinlan is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose Marie (nee Sperli); two sons, Mark and Christopher, both of Avon Lake; and three grandchildren, Brook Codner, Sean and Nicole Quinlan.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon,
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, (meet at church, reception following mass). Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
