LORAIN – Louise Jackson-Whitaker, nee Lovett, 89, of Lorain, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Jackson-Whitaker was born September 27,1924 in Free Union, Arkansas and had moved to Lorain 1964.
Louise Jackson-Whitaker was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Lorain where she was a part of The Rose of Sharon; sang in the choir, and served in culinary committee. She was a faithful volunteer of the 1970's LCCAA feeding program, and a Lifetime member of the Lorain branch of NAACP.
Mrs. Jackson-Whitaker was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking; she loved her children, and taking care of her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Jacqueline "Jackie" (Charles) Ballard, Debra J. (Larry) Cabbil, Sharon K. Ward, Marilyn J. Jackson, and Brinda D. Windham of Mansfield, sons Michael Wayne (Joni) Jackson, Frederick (Lakesha) Jackson both of Lorain, and Christopher B.(Cyndi) Jackson of Elyria; 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; one brother Veny Lovett; one sister Florence Heath many nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jackson-Whitaker was preceded in death by her first husband Odell Jackson, her second husband James "JC" Whitaker, her parents Henry and Virginia (nee Turner) Lovett, daughter Caroline D. Keaton, and son Ocie C. Jackson, brothers LeeTom Lovett, and Henry Lovett; sisters, Flossie Whitfield and Rozena Lovett.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 10:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM at Original Glorious Apostolic Church 995 Foster Ave., Elyria with Evangelist Doris Williams Pastor, officiating. Eulogist Rev. Donald Young, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Lorain.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, Ohio.
