Eugene Edward Boone
BERLIN HEIGHTS – Eugene Edward Boone, 89, of Berlin Heights, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at New Life Hospice, Lorain after a one year illness.
Eugene was born June 25, 1925 in Vermilion. He had been a lifelong area resident. He was a corporal in the United States Marine Corp serving during WWII. Eugene worked as a foreman and a truck driver on the railroad for 40 years. He attended Florence Congregational Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #659, Berlin Heights. He enjoyed reading and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet (nee Leimbach) of Berlin Heights; daughters, Chris (Larry) Summers of Vermilion, Debbie (Jon) Demuth of Berlin Heights and Tillie Carty (Bill Bryant) of Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Sondra Carty, Janette Summers, Josh Demuth, Michelle Demuth-Bibb and Joe Bibb and great grandchildren, Christopher Summers, Zach and Micheal Carty and Keegan Bibb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward N.and Sarah E. (nee Temple) Boone, sisters, Hilda Burley and Jennie Howell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5 - 8 p.m.at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. Funeral services will be Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Riddle Funeral Home. at 1:30 pm. The Reverend Mel Sayler will officiate. Interment will follow at Birmingham Cemetery where the Firelands Marine Corp League will conduct military honors.
