Julius John "Skip" Molnar Obituary
AMHERST – "Skip" Julius John Molnar, 71 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a 3 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born August 28, 1942 in Lorain, graduating from Lorain High School with the class of 1960. Skip received his Associates in Engineering and was among the first graduating class of the Lorain Technical College, now known as Lorain County Community College. Skip also was a graduate of John Carroll University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He had made his home in Amherst since 1967.
Skip served with the Army National Guard. He was employed at Nordson Corporation in Amherst for twenty years before retiring in 2006 as an Engineer and also held 11 patents with the company. Skip was a member of Hope Christian Church in Avon. He loved working and helping family with home remodeling and projects. Skip enjoyed summering at Kelleys Island and had built a recreation home on the island along with a cottage in Pennsylvania. In his spare time, his hobbies included wood working, traveling, collecting antiques and fishing. His greatest joy was attending family gatherings and his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife of seventeen years Barbara Lee Molnar (nee: Carney); his son Jason John Molnar and his wife Pam of New London; his daughters Christine Ann Molnar and her partner Janice Jennings of Knoxville, Tennessee, Cynthia Marie Crisler and her husband Loren of Lorain, his step son James Robert Bearden and his wife Jaimmie of Vermilion, his step daughters Stacie Lee Toothman and her husband Tobias of Amherst, Stephanie Marie Croskey and her husband Ryan of Uniontown, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; and his sister and her husband Patricia and Eugene Rutkowski of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his father Julius Molnar; his mother Lillian Molnar-Martin (nee: Majjesie); and his step father John Martin.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 23, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Tim Hanze, pastor of Hope Christian Church in Avon, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of The Western Reserve-Ames Family Hospice House at 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110.
