VERMILION - Mark Elliott Krieg, age 60, of Vermilion, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, August 7, 2014, after a long illness.
He was born in Lorain at the St. Joseph's Hospital on February 15, 1954. Mark was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1972 and worked as a carpet/tile installer by trade until he became too ill to continue. His hobbies include fishing and caring for his beloved cats. He also had a talent with engines and anything mechanical.
Mark is survived by his mother, Virginia Krieg, of Marathon, Fla.; sisters, Randi Mealey of Lorain, Deborah Zahorec of Amherst; brothers, Eric (Beatrice) Krieg of Lorain, and Matthew Krieg of Marathon, Fla. He is also survived by his nieces, Airyn (Alex) Mealey-Hunter of Lorain, Lauren Zahorec of New York City, N.Y.; as well as nephews, Michael Mealey, Christopher Krieg both of Lorain and Andrew (Ryan) Krieg of Vermilion. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Krieg, in 2002; brother, Jeffrey, in 1958; and brother-in-law, Michael Mealey, in 2011.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. A Celebration of Mark's Life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
The family would like to especially thank all of Mark's many friends and neighbors who helped make his final days a little easier. Your kindness to our son and brother is greatly appreciated.
