Thomas Adam Judy
VERMILION – Thomas Adam Judy, 88, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky where he had been a resident for the past year.
Thomas was born September 3, 1925 in Dover, OH and had been a Vermilion resident since 1986 moving from Rocky River.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Thomas was in the first landings at the Battles of Peleliu and Okinawa and was awarded the Purple Heart. Thomas and his wife Barbara were co-owners of West River Green House in Olmsted Falls for 21 years. Thomas had previously attended Rocky River Methodist Church and had a love for Lake Erie spending his free time boating and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Richard Judy of Morganton, NC; daughter, Rebecca Brunskill of England; granddaughter, Elaine Brunskill; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Carlson and Claire Way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (nee Fox) Judy in 2003, parents, Ralph and Erma (nee Schneider) Judy; and a sister, Ruth Berkey.
Private family services were held.
