Elaine Ann Birkline
AMHERST – Elaine Ann Birkline (nee: Mollison), 84 years of age, and a long time resident of Amherst Township, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Life Care Nursing Home in Elyria.
She was born June 24, 1930 in Lorain, Ohio. Elaine graduated from Lorain High School.
She was employed as a travel advisor at AAA for twenty-five years before retiring. Elaine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst where she was a member of the choir and served as the secretary at St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of WHO, S.C.O.A., and T.V.R. Car Club.
Survivors include her son, Charles D. Birkline, and his wife Michelle of Amherst; her daughter Lynne M. Sebring, and her husband Doug, of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Michael Arango, Kari Hutchison, Jake and Josh Birkline; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Donald Charles Birkline; her mother, Eva (nee: Greulich); and step-father, Donald Burkhart.
Friends may call Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Burial will take place privately by the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice; 9775 Rockside Rd, Suite 270, Cleveland, OH 44125.
