Lillian Pearl Jackson
AMHERST – Lillian Pearl Jackson (nee: Blomgren), died peacefully at her home in Amherst reaching the age of 100.
Lillian was born August 10, 1914, in Ely Township in Marquette County in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she was raised and spent most of her early life.
She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School and attended Northern State teachers college at Marquette. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse at Ely Township Elementary School. She lived in Lorain, Ohio, for many years moving to Amherst in 1989. Lillian loved to take care of her home and her family. Reading was a favorite past time. Gardening and cooking were part of the ways she gave to meet the needs of others. Her life was woven into the fabric of her families and her desire to give to others was her defining trait.
Survivors include a son-in-law Anthony Falcone of Amherst, her granddaughters Dawn (Robert) Rogers, Peggy (Guy) Gheta, and Laurie Cox; eight great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred; her daughter Ida Falcone; her sisters Myrtle Robar and June Blomgren; and her parents Gust and Charlotte Blomgren (nee: Peterson).
Friends may call Monday, August 18, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
