AMHERST – William C. "Bill" Northam 80, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 in Amherst Manor, Amherst following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 13, 1934 in Lorain and was a resident until moving to Elyria in 1990. Bill retired as a supervisor at Lorain Products in 1996. He worked there for 39 years.
Bill served in the United States Marines during the
. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and his dog Frankie.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years Mary Jane "Dolly' Northam (née Balazsy); his sons Robert Northam of Florida and Rick (Gladys) Northam of North Olmsted; and a nephew Greg (Rosie) Pounders of Lorain.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Colwell B. and Lucille (née Denman) Northam and a sister Mary Rothgery.
His funeral service and burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township was private.
