LORAIN: Artis Taylor Jr. "TC", 50 of Lorain passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.|
He was born on December 18, 1959 in Birmingham, Ala. and was a Lorain area resident for 45 yrs. He was a 1978 graduate of Lorain High School
Artis was self-employed for more than 30 years. He was an entrepreneur of Top Cat upholstery in Lorain. He previously worked for Lake Erie Upholstery in Lorain.
Artis will be sadly missed by his 7 children, Jerome Chambers, Djana Wannamaker and Brandon Chambers all of Lorain, Shalen Taylor of Augusta, Ga., Artis Taylor III of Lorain, Aaron Taylor of Orlando, Fla, and Michelle Taylor of Lorain; stepdaughter Reggan Kimbro of Lorain; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Johnnie Mae Taylor; brothers Michael Taylor of Lorain and Curtis Hawkins of Birmingham, Ala.; sisters Lisa Taylor of Birmingham, Ala., Rebecca Donnell of Lorain, Sheila Simms of Atlanta, Ga, Tina Taylor of Columbus, and Vanessa Taylor of Valdosta, Ga. and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Artis Taylor Sr., a sister Yolanda Taylor Geiger (May 2010); & maternal grandmother, Rebecca Dunklin-Major
Visitation will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 from 11:00 until time of service at 12 noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th St. in Lorain with Pastor Donald K. Young officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
