AMHERST TWP. - Lewis Strnad, age 61, of Amherst Twp., passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at EMH Regional Medical Center.
Lewis was born on March 12, 1949 in Lorain, Ohio to the late, Lewis and Sarah (nee Maljuzich) Strnad. He was a 1967 graduate of Clearview High School.
Lewis worked as an installer at Century-Tel Telephone Company until a heart condition forced him to go on disability. He also worked as a real estate agent for several years at Ecker Real Estate Company as well as owning Casey's Restaurant and Comedy Club in Lorain. He was a member of Local Union #4370. Lewis was a season ticket holder for the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns for many years and an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavs and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed playing softball for many years for several Lorain teams. His most favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He took them to school and attended all their sporting events and school programs. He planned all his vacations to include the grandchildren.
Lewis is survived by his longtime companion, Gloria Gonzales, of South Amherst; son, Joseph (Lena) Gonzales, of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Barbara (Al) McConihe, of Amherst; grandchildren, Tommy, Carlos, and Willie Joe Gonzales, of Colorado Springs, CO and Casey, Audrey, Lindsey and Abbey McConihe, of Amherst.
The Strnad family will receive family and friends for a memorial gathering on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd, Amherst.
