LORAIN - Jack L. Horinek Sr., 69, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Cleveland on February 18, 1943 and had lived in Lorain for most of his life.
Jack had worked as a welder mechanic. He was an Elder and a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lorain. Jack's ministry was the most important thing to him. He was a hard worker who enjoyed building motors for cars.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Catherine (nee Palella) Horinek of Lorain; sons, Jack (Sherri) Horinek of Latham Ohio, James (Amy) Horinek of Lorain, and Art Horinek of Cleveland; grandchildren, Contessa and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Angelina, Jason, and Kali Marie; brothers, Tom Horinek of Vermilion, Art Horinek and Gary Horinek, both of Lorain; sisters, Bonnie Wolfe of Medina and Christina Horinek; step-brothers, Leonard and Robert Stotzer, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie (nee Cook) Horinek and his grandson, Joshua.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 2330 Skyline Drive Lorain. Elder Willie Walker will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.
