Elaine Louise (Fuhrman) Riedmiller, passed away in her home in Delaware on Nov. 17, 2012, living a courageous and caring life through her last day.|
Elaine was born in Amherst, Ohio, on Sept. 3, 1948, to Mary Linden Fuhrman and Joseph S. Fuhrman. She grew up surrounded by her adoring sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts and friends in Lorain, Ohio, and was a 1966 graduate of Admiral King High School.
Elaine began her career in nursing in 1967. She retired from Grady Memorial Hospital in 2009, successfully serving the Delaware community as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit. As a compassionate, warm-hearted and spiritual person, she touched the lives of so many people, and continued to care for others as a hospice nurse at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. Concern for others was the hallmark of Elaine's wonderful nature. She fully enjoyed family gatherings, cooking for others, traveling with her husband, walking her puppies on nature trails, spending time with her large, extended family and reading books long in to the night.
Left behind to cherish and keep her memory is her mother, Mary Eustace, of Lorain; her daughters, Heather Wolf (Mark Smith), of Jenera, Shannon Bradley (Louie Savage), of Aurora and Danielle Wolf (Wheeler Lentz), of Delaware; her husband of 29 years, George Riedmiller; stepsons, Charlie and George (Cristine) Riedmiller Jr., all of Delaware; her eight beautiful grandchildren, Devin and Maggie Bradley, Chad, Brian, Kristin, Jami and Regan Riedmiller, and Katie (Justin) Ferguson; great-granddaughter, Karsen Ferguson; sisters and brothers, Jeanine (Bill) Sabo, of Dublin, Mark (Celia) Fuhrman, of Lorain, Anita (Joseph) Lieser, of Ostrander, Mary Jo (Shane) Delin, of Lorain, Martin (Laura) Fuhrman, of Vermilion. Elaine loved each of her numerous nieces and nephews, and took a keen interest in their lives and accomplishments.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Stanley Fuhrman in 1989 and her stepfather James Eustace in 2010.
