AVON LAKE - Dennis P. Kolibab, 68 years old, of Avon Lake, Ohio died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, Ohio.

Mr. Kolibab was born on June 25, 1944 in Lakewood, Ohio and lived in Avon Lake most of his life. He was a graduate of Avon Lake High School, class of 1963; and was employed at Republic Steel (now LTV Steel) in Cleveland, Ohio for 34 years as a Scarf Inspector, retiring in l997. He was Chief Steward for Union Local 1098 for many years; Life Member of the VFW Post 8796 in Avon Lake where he was past quartermaster; K-9 Corps dog handler; avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device and the Combat Infantrymans Badge.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol J. (nee Schaefer); three sons; Dennis D. of Northfield, Ohio, Jason M. of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and Kristopher A. of Rockville, Maryland; five grandchildren; one sister, Janet Kenny of Avon Lake and one brother, John of Summerfield, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John V. and Margaret (nee Andrews) Kolibab.
No funeral services will be held.
