SHEFFIELD LAKE - Dean Richard Keller, 80, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Mary's of the Wood in Avon, Ohio. He was born on December 29, 1932 in Wauseon, Ohio.

He was a 1955 graduate of The Ohio State University. He worked as a registered Engineer and Surveyor for 15 years at U.S.X., 10 years at Cleveland State Director of Facilities and 4 years with the City of Willoughby as Director of Public Services. He served on the board of Boy Scouts of America, and the Oberlin Baseball Federation. Dean was a member of the First Congretional Church of Lorain and he was a member of the North Ridge Racquet Club, Tennis Club in Avon Lake, and Vandemere Club in Hilton Head. Dean enjoyed tennis, sailing, boating and bicycling.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Jean Keller of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Son Larry (Eva) Keller of Waynesboro, Ga., daughter Lisa (Roy) Scherler of Medina, Ohio and grandchildren John, Jordan, Andrea, Dana and Julia.
He was preceded in death by father John Keller and his mother Fanny Keller.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Cowling Funeral Home 228 South Main St. in Oberlin. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, February 7, 2013 at First Congregational Church, Lorain, Ohio. There will be a private family burial at a later date in Westwood Cemetery.
