Betty Jane (Holtzman) Zvosec Obituary
ELYRIA - Betty Jane Zvosec (nee Holtzman), 90, of Elyria, died Saturday February 16, 2013 at Fairview Hospital in Fairview Park.
She was born June 5, 1922 in Elyria and had been a lifelong Elyria area resident.
Betty graduated from Clearview High School in 1940. She worked at the Elyria Chronicle and in the lab at St. John West Shore Hospital in Westlake before retiring.
Betty was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, the ladies auxiliary of VFW Post #1079 in Elyria and the Elyria Moose Lodge. She loved animals and traveling.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Schmidt of Elyria, Patricia Cerveniak of Lorain, Barbara (Rob) Scheithauer of Elyria Township, Royleen (Michael) Travers of Elyria and Kathy (Jack) Stringer of Grapevine, TX; sons: Gary (Cindy) Zvosec of Naples, FL, Daniel (Debra) Zvosec of South Amherst and Roy Mike (Norma) Zvosec of Florida, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Holtzman (nee Nell), ex husband Roy Zvosec, grandson Ronald Fly, sisters Beverly Saltis and Leah Schuster and brothers Delbert Holtzman and William Holtzman.
The family will receive friends Monday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria Twp. The Rev. Donald Dunson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
