Dennis A. Beko Obituary
AMHERST - Dennis A. Beko, 70 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at The Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.
He was born January 22, 1943 in Lorain, Ohio. Dennis was raised in South Amherst and graduated from South Amherst High School. He was a lifetime resident of the Amherst area.
Dennis was employed at Ford Motor Corporation in Lorain. He was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in South Amherst. Dennis was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1662, American Legion Post #118 and the Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442. Dennis was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years Dianne M. Beko (nee: Hevener); sons Dennis A. Beko, Jr. of Avon, Daughter Debbie Whitten of Amherst; grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alex, Cameron, Madison, great grandson Kaleb; brother Jerry Beko of Wellington; his sister Audrey DiSilvester and her husband Nick of Lorain; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son in law Brad Whitten; and his parents August and Irma Beko (nee: Toth).
Friends may call Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Fr. William Padavick, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
