CLEVELAND - McKindley Phillips, 56, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Elyria. He was born December 15, 1935 in Grady, Alabama and was a former resident of Elyria and Chicago. He lived in Cleveland for the past fourteen years where he was a faithful member of First Community Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed by General Motors and Ford Motor Co. in his earlier years and later retired from the Foster Grandparent Program. His favorite pastime was playing cards.
McKindley is survived by a son, McKindley Phillips Jr. and a daughter Charice Phillips, both of Chicago IL; sisters, Dora Anderson and Rosie Pope, both of Lorain; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jlean Phillips, daughters, Gloria, Glenda, and Tara; parents, Fulton B. and Mary L. Phillips; sisters, Florilla Robinson, Lucille Moore and Bennie M. Daniels.
Services will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 from 7-9pm at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain OH 44052; (440) 244-1831.
