Frances J. Deremer LORAIN — Frances J. Deremer (nee Riehl), age 79, of Lorain, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013, peacefully in the presence of her family. She was born on January 13, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and Nellie (nee Britz). She graduated in 1951 from St. Anthony High School in Michigan and furthered her education at Mercy College of Detroit, graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 1955. Frances worked for 6 years as a registered nurse at Providence Hospital in Detroit. She was a member of Lakeland Women's Club and its Fine Arts Committee. She was also active with the AAUW. Frances was a talented quilter, cross-stitcher, sewer and knitter, making many keepsakes for her family through the years. She also spent many hours studying astrology and researching her family genealogy. She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Tad) Bonsall, of Irvine, CA and Wendy (Brian) White, of Middleburg Hts.; and her son, Charles (Nicole), of Henrietta Twp.; her grandchildren, Elva Bonsall, Madeline White, Spencer Deremer and Julianna Deremer. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 1999, her sister Catherine Hill, and her brothers, Edward and Harold Riehl. The Deremer Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd. Amherst. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral center. A light luncheon will be held after the memorial service in the funeral center.
