He immigrated to the United States with his Mother in 1948, was adopted by his step father in 1949 with name change to Gary, and became a United States Citizen in 1956. He grew up in Lorain, Ohio and worked in the family business, the OK Restaurant, at 1252 Broadway Ave. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1961, enlisted in the United State Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Lorain, until his retirement after 30 years in 1998. During his time at Ford, he attended Dyke College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1989. After his retirement he pursued an interest in house renovation for rental and was a founding member of the LELA. He also enjoyed car restoration and was an avid fisherman. In his recent years, he became involved with Habitat for Humanity, gaining much satisfaction from the pursuit and valued the acquaintance of the devoted people he worked with.
