HENRIETTA TOWNSHIP - Allen C. Buchs, 85, of Henrietta Township, died on Saturday, August 17, 2013, following a long illness.|
He was born on April 19, 1928 in Oberlin, and had been a Henrietta Township resident for over 78 years.
He owned and operated Allen C. Buchs Excavating for over 60 years. He was active at the Sandusky and Lorain County Speedways with his group of Super Jeeps, also traveling to over seven states and Canada with the Jeeps. Allen was a member of the Oberlin Masonic Lodge. Allen and his wife Faith enjoyed traveling in their later years and had even taken an around the world cruise.
He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Faith (Jackson); his children, Sylvia (Norm) Hergina of Henrietta Township, Sandra (Greg) Robey of Henrietta Township, Timothy (Diane) Buchs of Camden Township, Sharon Saxon of Henrietta Township, Cameron (Sharon) Buchs of Henrietta Township, Dianne (Bill) Pegler of Elyria and Norman Buchs of Wakeman; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Anderson of Henrietta; and sister-in-law, Barbara Buchs of Oberlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Margaret (Moehl) Buchs; brother, Wilbur Buchs; and brother in-law, Dewey Anderson.
Friends may call on Monday August 19, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. A Masonic service will be held on Monday at 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Camden Cemetery.
