AVON LAKE - Michael "Mickey" Andro, 75, a lifelong resident of Avon Lake, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at his home surrounded by family after a long battle with heart disease. |
He was born April 12, 1938, in Cleveland, the son of the late Michael and Sarah Andro (nee George).
Mr. Andro served his country in the Army, stationed in Germany. He was self-employed in a number of business ventures and was best known as a former owner for 15 years of the Tropicana Restaurant and Lounge in Avon Lake. Mickey enjoyed golfing, took pride in his yard and enjoyed relaxing by his pond, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Mr. Andro is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine (nee Kotaska); daughter, Morna (Michael) Roach of Lorain; sons, Theodore of Avon Lake and Jason of Cleveland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, John Andro of Avon Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Victor, Theodore, Alex, Stephen and Andrew.
Private family services will be held.
