LORAIN - Virgella Terry, 88, of Lorain, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, November 2, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Cleveland Ohio and resided in Lorain for nearly 60 years.
Mrs. Terry was a talented homemaker; and had previously worked at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland as a nurse's aide.
She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Cleveland and enjoyed attending the local churches in her community.
She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and family gatherings.
She is survived by daughters, Theresa H. Watkins of Cleveland, Denise L. Littlejohn of Westwood, Mass.; son in law Richard Littlejohn of Westwood, Mass.; 4 granddaughters; 3 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters, Lillie Mae Preston, Edith Greer, and Catherine Vaughn all of Cleveland; sister in law, Dorothy Stewart of Black Forrest, CO., and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Terry; father David Talmadge Stewart, Sr.; mother Dovella (nee Bell); brothers, Melvin and David Jr. Stewart; and Sister Queen Esther Boozer.
Friends may call Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, 127 West Bridge Street, Elyria, Ohio from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Agnes Olwendo will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
