VERMILION - June Anne Moes (nee Staller), 94, of Vermilion, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Kingston Residence of Vermilion after a short illness.|
June was born August 16, 1919 in Lorain, and had been a Vermilion area resident since 1941.
She worked for the Vermilion Board of Education as a teacher's aide retiring in 1976.
June was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and was a charter member of the Vermilion Women's League. She was instrumental in organizing the first Vermilion kindergarten and the Vermilion High School Booster Club. She enjoyed music, reading, boating, playing bridge, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Carolyn) Moes of Vermilion and John Moes of Vermilion; daughter, Pam (the late George 'Greg") Gregory of Vermilion; 4 grandsons, Michael (Maura), Matthew, Geoffrey (Sarah), and Nathaniel (Elizabeth) Moes; granddaughter, Molly Gregory; and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Julius "Mike" Moes in 1997; daughter, Nancy Moes in 1947; parents, Mike and Anna (nee Wavrick) Staller; brothers, Harlan and Cal Staller and sister, Shirley Bungart.
Private family services will be held.
