James Norman Drysdale Obituary
LORAIN - James "Jim" Norman Drysdale, 77 of Lorain, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Fairview Hospital. Jim was born on November 26, 1935, in Mount Dennis, Ontario, Canada, to James and Margaret Drysdale. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother John Drysdale.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Katherine Drysdale, son Jimmy (Marcia), grandson Quinn Drysdale, niece Sandy Garcia, all of Lorain, Ohio, brother Robert (Susan) Drysdale, sister Evelyn Drysdale and Margaret Cupstey all of Canada, along with other nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Jim was employed by Ford Motor Company for 43 years. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1965 and has served as an Elder in the Lorain East Congregation since 1972. In 2009 he along with his grandson Quinn began devoting 70 hours a month in the full time house to house ministry as regular pioneers. Jim derived great joy from being able to share with all who he met the bibles wonderful hopes for the future.
Aside from his ministry Jim took a special interest in music. In 1957 he was in a Canadian rock n roll band called The Cosmos for which he played the bass guitar. THE COSMOS appeared on several Variety Shows and tow records, two of the songs being "My Love, My Love" and Worry, Worry". He later joined a second Canadian group called The Atlantics for which they recorded 12 songs. Words cannot begin to express how much Jim will be missed as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His unwavering devotion to his heavenly father Jehovah right down to the end of his life was an example worthy of imitation. Al who loved him eagerly waits to see him again once he is resurrected onto a Paradise earth as is promised in God's word The Bible. We the family would also like to express our deep love and gratitude to the Lorain East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and to all who have supported us during this very difficult time.
