NEW LONDON - James Hose, 81, of New London, died Friday, December 20, 2013, after a lengthy illness at Lake Point Health Center in Lorain.
He was born March 1, 1932, in McKeesport, Pa., to the late Howard and Maud (nee Harker) Hose. James grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio in the late 1960s, living in Elyria and then Vermilion for several years. He had been a New London resident for the past 10 years.
James served in the U.S. Army during the
. After serving in the military, he worked for and retired from Ford in 1994.
James was a member of the
and the UAW. He enjoyed bowling and playing horse shoes with his friends.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara (nee Roth); children, James Fredrick Hose of Wadsworth, Linda Innes of New London, Luann Roelle of Kentucky and Bruce Hose of New London; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard Hose of McKeesport, Pa.
A private family graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
