VERMILION - James A. Yousko, 80, of Vermilion, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness.
James was born August 28, 1933 in McKeesport, Pa. and had been a Vermilion resident since 1973.
He was a veteran of the
United States Air Force
serving during the
James was an inspector for Ford Motor Co. in Lorain retiring in 1991.
He was a member of St Matthew Lutheran Church, AMVETS Post #22, and the American Legion Post# 397.
James is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Hicks); children Jill (Ralph) Shumate of Greensprings, Ohio, Peter Yousko of Vermilion, and Dr. Steven (Susan) Yousko of Cornville, Ariz.; grandchildren Teegan, Lonnie, Michelle, and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Emma (nee Swanick) Yousko; infants twin sons John and William; brother Joseph Jr.; and sister Mary Schneider.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 15617 Mason Rd, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors. The Reverend Dr. Karl Fry will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church P.O. Box 774, Vermilion, OH 44089.
