ELYRIA - Ellis "Mr. T" Thomas Sr., 75, of Elyria went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2014 at the University Hospital of Cleveland, Ohio, following a short illness.
He was born in Hollandale, Mississippi, coming to Elyria, in 1962 from Oberlin, Ohio.
Mr. Thomas was employed for General Motors plant of Elyria, retiring after 25 years of service Mr. Thomas also was the owner and operator of Thomas fine foods of Elyria, he worked for Lance Buick of Elyria, he was also an Amway salesman.
He also enjoyed playing pool, card games and having stories for everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Zilphia Thomas, daughters; Gloria Thomas-Jones of Lorain, Emma Marie Lackey of Stone MT, GA., sons: Alvin(Judith) Thomas of Lorain, John Sellers (Willette) Brooks of Cleveland Oh., Gary Thomas of Baldwin MI., Air Force Col. Christopher D.(Angie) Brooks of Ramsteing Germany, Alan Jeff Brooks of Elyria, Isaac Vernon Brooks of Elyria, Michael Dwayne Brooks of Fort Worth, Tx host of grandchildren and also great-grandchildren and 1- great-great granddaughter, sister; Egella Pickett of Chicago Ill., brother; James of ATL.,GA. And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives
Preceded in death by parents; Will and Rosie Thomas, daughter; Linda L Moore, sons; Ellis Thomas Jr., James Thomas, Gregory Thomas, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Friends may call Sunday March 9, 2014 from 5 to 7pm at Carter funeral home 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be Monday March 10, 2014 at 11am at Carter Funeral Home Lorain, Rev. Brisco Odom Jr., Of Greater Victory Church of Lorain will officiate ,burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria .
