LORAIN - Victoria Mary Pajer (nee Kumse), 92, of Lorain, Ohio and Oviedo, Florida, died March 14, 2014 in Winter Park, Florida.
Born December 12, 1921 in Lorain, Mrs. Pajer was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1939B.
After Business school, she worked as a secretary for the Selective Service during World War II.
She was very active in her church, SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, where she was on the flower committee. She was a leader of Joy Seniors of the church and led the group in many interesting bus trips and activities. She was the leader of Girl Scout Troop 137, a member of Lorain Sorosis, Kiwi Club and the Lighthearted Social Club. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, her garden and friends. For 24 seasons, she spent the winters at Woodlands Lutheran Camp, Montverde, Florida and was an associate member of Woodlands Lutheran Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved the Lord with all her heart.
She is survived by a daughter, Vida Ann Schultz ( Terry), a son, Craig (Dolores), granddaughters, Heather Schultz and Kristin Soukup, grandsons, Adam and Alex Pajer and great-grandchildren, Lauren Mayhercy, Karina and Parker Soukup. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, John; and sisters, Vida Dugan, Martha Semon and Jennie Brove.
The family will receive friends Friday 5 – 8pm in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Friends may also call Saturday in SS Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain from 10:00 am until time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
