H. Vargo Obituary
LORAIN - H. Doris Vargo, age 90, of Lorain, passed away Sunday March 30, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain after a brief illness.
She was born in Hamburg, Germany before moving to the United States in 1949 and has been a resident of Lorain for 65 years.
Doris worked at Frank Kern Café before retiring from Lorain Products. She was a member of the St. Peters United Church of Christ in Amherst, the Eastern Star Day Chapter, American Legion Aux, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aux. Doris enjoyed traveling, dancing and loved to cook for anyone who came over, even if they weren't hungry. She was known for her generosity and kind spirit and loved her Scottish Terrier Kippy.
Survivors include her husband, James K. Vargo of Lorain; daughter, Rhonda Lechner of Vermilion; step-son, James A. (Lizbeth) Vargo of Vermilion; step-daughter, Linda (David) Eberhardt of Amherst; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Laurie) Varndell of Amherst, Ryan (Betsy) Varndell of Wellington, Nicole (Scott) Carlson of North Ridgeville and Timothy (Kyrsten) Vargo of Maumee.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Gustov and Martha Reech.
Friends may call Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 6PM until 7:45, when a service from the Eastern Star will be held, at Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain OH 44052.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11AM at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst. Rev. David Plant will officiate. (Please meet at the cemetery) Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eastern Stars Day Chapter #479. c/o Shirley Boner, 242 Gail Dr., Sheffield Lake, OH 44054.
