William Arthur Klucas
BROWNSVILLE, MN – William Arthur Klucas, 72, of Brownsville, Minn., died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, from a rare form of cancer.
Bill was born July 8, 1941, in Vermilion, Ohio, to Charles and Agnes (Leimeister) Klucas. He was raised by Charles and Cecilia (Cullen) Klucas. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Townsend-Wakeman High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio. His professional career included journalism and political consulting/campaign managing in national and statewide elections. His primary career was in professional basketball where he scouted for several ABA and NBA teams and coached in the CBA, where he won over 500 games. He also coached basketball internationally in Canada and Brazil. He coached collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the University of Minnesota, The Ohio State University, and Ashland University.
Bill is survived by his children, David Klucas, Jeffrey Klucas, Suzanne (Klucas) Eggelmeyer, their mother, Judith (Moos) Klucas, and 5 grandchildren: Bethany Diacou, Elizabeth Eggelmeyer, Jacob Klucas, London Klucas, and Sarah Eggelmeyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Spencer (Doc) Klucas.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vermilion, Ohio, at 10:30am.
