Jerry McClintic Obituary

Jerald Ray [Jerry] McClintic, age 68, of St Louis passed away on June 30, 2011 at Schnepp's Rehab Center after a lifelong struggle with hemochromatosis.
Jerry was born May 21,1943, in Alma, the son of Glen Jerald and Dorothy (Nartker) McClintic. He lived in the St Louis area most of his life, graduating from St Louis High School in 1961.
Jerry especially enjoyed working in the bowling and golf business, notably for the Luneack family, first at Gratiot Lanes then Bear Truss.
Jerry will be remembered by all as an athlete in his younger days and an avid sports fan until the very end. He wowed the crowds with his pitching prowess in the game of fast pitch softball.
He loved the Detroit Tigers and never missed a televised game. He also loved the game of golf which he shared and passed along to his children.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn McClintic of St Louis and their two children son Scott McClintic (Kai) of Las Vegas, NV; daughter Lynne Marie (Robert) Wyre of Chaska MN; stepson Thomas (Lezlie) Mayville of Carson City, NV; stepson David Mayville of St. Louis.
Also surviving are grandchildren Elizabeth, Andrew, and Daniel Wyre of Minnesota, Cameron Mayville of Nevada, and Jeramiah (Jessica) Mayville of Michigan.
Also surviving is his mother Dorothy Curtis and brothers Richard and Frank (Jill) McClintic, all of St. Louis as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepson Michael Mayville.
We will be honoring Jerry's wishes for cremation and no memorial service, as he would prefer a gathering and celebration of his life for family and friends at the CSA Hall in St. Louis on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 2p.m.
On line condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel, St. Louis.
