Clifford M. Black

Clifford M. Black 94, of Pittsburg, KS died 9:38am Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Guest Home Estates in Pittsburg, KS following an illness. Clifford was born in Richards, MO the son of John Thomas and Ermal Amy (Waite) Black. His family moved to Pittsburg, KS in 1922 and Clifford was a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
Clifford married Mary Evelyn Morrison on October 19, 1941 in Overland Park, KS; she preceded him in death on June 16, 1998. He later married Ruth Slankard on October 5, 2000; she survives. Clifford was a US Army Veteran serving his county from 1941-1945 during WWII in what is now called Iran for the Persian Gulf Command. He was a retired Railroad Engineer with the Kansas City Southern Railroad and was also a proud member of the Golden Rails Club.
Survivors include his wife; sisters Hazel Goff and Ethel Hayes; children Nancy Stamm Rushton, Carol Brownrigg, Nancy Seal, Bill Ramage and Jo Ramage as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Memorial Services will be 1pm Tuesday September 24, 2013 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS with Rev. Dennis Uchtman officiating.
