Ernest G. Amoneno, age 79, passed away Jan. 30, 2014, at his home in Point Aquarius, Willis, Texas.
He was born February 2, 1934, to Ernest J. and Alys (Allen) Amoneno.
Living most of his life in Pittsburg, he graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1952 and then from Kansas State Teachers College with a BA degree in mechanical arts. He was a member of the ROTC, SCABBARD and BLADE, and the ROTC rifle team.
March 15, 1957, he and Vicki Simoncic were married at Ft. Sill, Okla. After serving in the Army
as a First Lieutenant, he owned and operated A.A. Electric, Pittsburg Lumber, Westfield Acres, Quality Motors and other financial businesses.
He coached several of his sons' little league teams and was President of the Pittsburg High School Quarterback Club.
The family moved to Colorado in 1982 and then to Texas in 2006.
He is deeply missed by his wife of 56 years; sons E.G. and wife Debbie of Montgomery, Texas, Eric and wife Dawn of Colorado Springs, Co.; daughter Alicia and husband Stan Rainey; several grandchildren; many close cousins and Scrappy and Kami.
