Ilene Dollar, 87, of Frontenac, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Medicalodges of Pittsburg.
She was born October 15, 1926 at Yale, Kansas to Allan and Hattie (Gintner) Baker. She attended school at Yale and graduated from Frontenac High School.
On October 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Silver Dollar at Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2009.
Mrs. Dollar loved to go camping and fishing. She also loved to bake and sew.
She is survived by a son, Silver "Buddy" Dollar, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Yale, KS; two daughters, Linda Fields and her husband, Fred of Frontenac, and Penny Peak of Fort Bragg, CA; a brother, Allan Baker Jr. of Princeton, KS; eight grandchildren, Wendy Marlier, Sunny Zafuta, April Peak, Charity Vandenberg, Dusty Fields, Scott Fields, Adam Peak, and Nick Dollar; 14 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Geraldine Marrone and a great-grandson, Aaron Marlier.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to be given to be Frontenac Education Association.
