John Wilkie Flottman, age 58, of the Washington, D.C. area died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Worthington, OH. He was born January 8, 1955 in Washington, D.C. John was a 1973 graduate of Potomac H.S. in Oxon Hill, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
. His Primary occupation was a computer operator. As a young boy, John was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of the National Capital Area Council, and later became a Boy Scout Leader. He was a sweet man who liked to help children. John was a member of the Benjamin B. French Lodge #15 F.A.A.M. and a member of the Scottish Rite both in Washington, D.C. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn (Miller) Flottman. John will be missed by his loving father and step-mother, Arnold Jr. and Carmen Flottman; siblings Deborah Lynn (Boyd) Twitty, Arnold L. "Skip" (Marilyn) Flottman, Ill and Irma (Roberta Mullen) Flottman; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and a great-nephew. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday May 16th at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Pastor Blair Thompson officiating; Masonic Rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. just prior to the memorial services. Inurnment will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery where C. Company 1-28 Infantry 4th Brigade from Ft. Riley Kansas will provide Funeral Honors. Condolences can be sent to www.bathnaylor.com
