Larry D. McReynolds Sr.(1948 - 2014)

Larry D. McReynolds Sr., 65, of Weir, Kan., passed away at 5:48 p.m., Thursday April 10, 2014, at The Golden Living Center in Pittsburg, Kan. He was born August 10, 1948, in Arkansas to Thurman and Nancy McReynolds. He attended the Hutchinson Police Academy in 1994, and he was a professional mechanic for several years before becoming disabled. He was also a police officer in Weir from 1994-1996.
He made his home in Weir in 1987 with Linda, his lifetime partner, and daughter Cindy. His hobbies were working on all cars and shooting the bull with father-in-law Melvin.
Survivors include Linda, a lifetime partner of the home; two daughters, Cindy (Travis) Bennett and Kimberly McReynolds of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Larry D. McReynolds Jr. of Topeka; two granddaughters, Rachel and Megan Bennett of McCune; one grandson, Logan McReynolds of Tulsa, Okla.; mother-in-law Ida McReynolds of Girard; two brothers-in-law, Herb (Karen) McReynolds and Chet (Sharon) McReynolds, both of Weir; a sister-in-law, Jewel (Mike) Cash of Olathe; six nephews; six nieces; 15 great nieces and nephews; two brothers; and two sisters. He is preceded in death by both parents; father in-law Melvin McReynolds; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne and Jack McReynolds. We will be having a celebration for life for Larry at a later date.
