John Wilkie Flottman Obituary
John Wilkie Flottman, age 58, of the Washington, D.C. area died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Worthington, OH.
He was born January 8, 1955 in Washington, D.C. John was a 1973 graduate of Potomac H.S. in Oxon Hill, MD. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His primary occupation was as a computer operator. As a young boy, John was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of the National Capital Area Council, and later became a Boy Scout Leader. He was a sweet man who liked to help children. John was a member of the Benjamin B. French Lodge #15 F.A.A.M. and member of the Scottish Rite. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn (Miller) Flottman. John will be missed by his loving father and step-mother, Arnold Jr. and Carmen Flottman; siblings, Deborah Lynn (Boyd) Twitty), Arnold L. "Skip" Flottman, III, and Irma (Roberta Mullen) Flottman; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and a great-nephew. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Dublin Community Church, 81 W. Bridge St., Dublin, OH, Rev. Robert C. Tussing, officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Contributions may be made in John's memory to your local Boy Scouts of America Troop.
