Robert Louis Blancho "Bob" 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2013. He died at his home in Pittsburg, KS.
Robert was born September 13, 1926 to August Louis and Josephine Ann (Eichorn) Blancho in Pittsburg, KS. He grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from Saint Mary's Parochial Schools and left to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.
After he returned home, he attended Kansas State Teachers College for two years and soon after, started a career on Jan 1, 1947 at McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing Corporation. He eventually became a Chief Design Engineer and was with the company for 40 years before retiring.
Bob married June Marie Pritchard on April 23, 1949. He later divorced and married Pauline Marie Costello on December 31, 1986.
Robert was a loving and dedicated husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Pauline and his six children; Greg Blancho (wife Teri), Mark Blancho (wife Diana), Chris Blancho (wife Mariann), Tim Blancho, Suzanne Davison (husband Bruce) and Michelle Blancho. He also had 4 stepchildren; Mark Costello (wife Neida), Trish Costello, Mike Costello and Paulette Howard (husband Chris). He adored his 23 Grandchildren and 18 Great-Grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Sister (Barbara Jean Harmon), Daughter-in-law (Linda Jewell Blancho), and Granddaughter (Bethany Lynn Blancho).
The rosary will be recited by Father Thomas Stroot at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday July 24, 2013 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg where the family will receive friends following until 8:30 p.m. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in the Highland Park Cemetery, the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post #64 will conduct flag folding and presentation ceremonies at that time.
