1925 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Darlene Mae Cowper, 89, Kansas City, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2014 with family at her side. Darlene was born
March 16, 1925 to William and Marguerite Tierney in Pittsburg, KS. She moved to Kansas City in 1944, after meeting Kenneth Cowper, whom she married on June 12, 1946. The couple was blessed with seven children.

In addition to caring for her family, Darlene built a substantial custom drapery business. She was full of orneriness, enjoyed dancing and playing cards. She loved her family and friends and was always helping others. Her children say she was the greatest Mom ever.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and two children, Patrick and Linda. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Sherry) Cowper Jr, and William (Kim) Cowper; three daughters, Darlene Baker, Mary Lou (Max) Mixon, and Colleen (Steven) Kiser; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th Street, Kansas City, with visitation preceding the service at 10:00 AM. Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM. Following the Mass, burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arr. McGilley Antioch Chapel.
