Mary ""Margaret"" Arnold, 75, of Pittsburg, Kansas died at 7 A.M. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Girard Medical Center in Girard, Kansas.

Mrs. Arnold was born September 24, 1942 at Pittsburg, Kansas the daughter of Bernard ""Humpy"" and Evelyn Prelan Brooks. Margaret was a homemaker and worked as kitchen manager for U.S.D. #250 at Westside School for 29 years. She was a lifelong resident of Pittsburg. She was raised in Pittsburg and attended Pittsburg Schools. She loved sewing. She volunteered for St. Mary's Goodwill Store. She married Robert Earl Arnold on September 14, 1963 at Pleasanton, Kansas. Mr. Arnold survives at the home. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Pittsburg. Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home, a daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Wayman of Girard, three sons, Gene Arnold (Kari Webb and Jordan and Rylee) of Baldwin City, Kansas, John Thomas Arnold and his wife Jo of Lamar, Missouri, and Michael Wayne Carpenter and his wife Joyce of Omaha, Nebraska, three sisters, Barbara Ann (Ronnie) Charlton of Liberal, Missouri, Berna Dean Boyd of Pittsburg, and Terri Centers of Pittsburg, two brothers, Bruce (Karen) Brooks of Arma, and John Brooks of Pittsburg, eight grandchildren, Kirk Allen Masterson, Jamie Walsh, Allen Wayne Carpenter, Nathan Arnold, Cassidy Arnold, Jesse Wayman, Lauren Wayman, Avery Pearce, and Jordan Pearce, eight great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kirk Allen Carpenter, a granddaughter, Heather Carpenter, and a brother, Charles Brooks.

Graveside services will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Belt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the Bedene Funeral Home in Arma, Kansas. The family suggests donations to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Donations may be sent to the funeral home.
