Russell D. Pryer, 72, of Arma, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsburg, Kansas with Reverend Theodore Cook, officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may sign the register book at Bedene Funeral Home Wednesday, February 5, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Russell David Pryer was born October 12, 1941 in Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Russell Dudley Pryer and Evelyn (Folle) Pryer. He grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from College High School in 1959. After high school he attended Pittsburg State University. Russell was drafted and served time with the United States Army and later with the Kansas National Guard for many years.
On September 18, 1980 in Pittsburg he was united in marriage to Karen Talarico and she survives at the home.
Russell worked as a real estate appraiser in an advisory and consultant role for over 20 years before ill health forced him to retire.
His favorite hobbies were playing in the band Conny and the Bellhops which he was co-founder, music and loved animals. In 2010 he was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame for his many years with Conny and the Bellhops. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Benjamin A. Fuller Post #64 American Legion and MOKA Pigeon Club.
Survivors include wife Karen of the home, two sons, Shawn Pryer and wife Jennifer of Jasper, Missouri, Todd Pryer and wife Tasha of Miami, Oklahoma, daughter, Lynette Moore, two step daughters, Shaylon Bennett of Overland Park, Kansas, Dr. Lori Slavin and husband Troy of Olathe, Kansas, sister, Mary Thomas and husband George of Overland Park, Kansas, brother, Bob Pryer and Truman of Pittsburg, four grandchildren, Luke and Logan Pryer, Cody and Dakota Moore, two step grandchildren, Nic and Shelby Slavin.
