Jack Ray Lawrence Obituary
Jack Ray Lawrence, 94, of Pittsburg, passed away at 11:18 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Medicalodge of Frontenac.
He was born February 15, 1919, at Carthage, MO, the son of John and Vangie (Goodwin) Lawrence.  He attended elementary school at Pleasant Valley and graduated from Carterville High School.

On May 29, 1942, at Jefferson, MO he was enlisted into the United States Army.  He served in World War II and was Honorably Discharged on January 15, 1946, at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.

On February 2, 1942, he was united in marriage to Doris Lawrence, at Webb City, MO.  She preceded him in death in January of 1950.  On February 4, 1953, he married Mary Lou White, at Joplin, MO.  She survives of the home.

Mr. Lawrence was an Engineer for KOAM Radio and TV until his retirement in 1981.

Membership was held in the Amateur Radio Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jacque Steinbauer and her husband, Given of Pittsburg, KS, and Robyn Ericson and her husband, Kendall of Clovis, NM, one step-son, Larry McReynolds and his wife, Pam of Joplin, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bob Lawrence, and a step-son, Jim McReynolds.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014, at the Brenner Mortuary. Private family burial will take place at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg.  The family suggests memorials to the Angels Among Us.  These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS  66762.  Friends may leave condolences online at  Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
