Patricia H. (Bishop) Burns Obituary
Patricia H. (Bishop) Burns, 78, of Mindenmines, MO, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg.
She was born September 25, 1935, at Chicago, IL, to Steve and Helen (Pioletti) Bishop.
Her family moved to Cherokee, KS, and she attended Girard and Cherokee High Schools, graduating from Cherokee High School in 1953.
On July 14, 1953, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Willard Burns at Girard. He survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Judith Lynn Bishop-Hughes and her husband, Tony Hughes of Nelson, New Zealand; four sons, Jim Burns and his wife, Gail of Mindenmines, Rusty Burns of Mindenmines, Rocky Ramage and Lisha Mabels of Mindenmines, and David Burns of Mindenmines; two daughters, Laura McLaughlin and her husband, Tyson of Pittsburg and Nancy Sisney and Gayle Prettyman of Croweburg; eight grandchildren; Michael Sisney, Kerry Pommier, Alex Smith, Tre and Kaden McLaughlin, Rachel Martin, Tucker and Tanner Ramage, nine great-grandchildren; and numerous foster children who were welcomed into the home.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Burns has been cremated. The family will receive friends at the Brenner Mortuary, Thursday, May 22, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private family burial will take place at a later time. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or sent to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
