Margaret M. Hardacre, 95 of Pittsburg, KS formerly of Odessa, MO died at 3:49 a.m. Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born February 25, 1919 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Max Paul and Cecelia (Lenski) Oehme. She attended Pittsburg schools. She lived in Odessa, MO where she worked and lived for 37 years. While living in Kansas City she worked as a waitress and while living in Odessa she worked at a shoe factory and at the Odessa Post Office. She moved back to Pittsburg in 1980 where she remained until her passing.
Margaret married George E. Hardacre on December 10, 1939 in Independence, MO; he preceded her in death on August 6, 1978. George owned and operated Gene's Barber Shop in Odessa.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac and while living in Odessa was a member of the Organ Club.
Survivors include a niece Virginia Rigensberg of Pittsburg, KS and a sister-in-law Lola Oehme of Pittsburg, KS who both helped provide for her care; a special great-nephew Ralph Bartley of Bella Vista, AR; nieces Mary Lucille Ellis, Cecelia Oehme, Elmarie Scharff, Michele Oehme, Mary Manley; nephews Lonnie Gustin, James Oehme; numerous great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, three sisters, two nieces and a great-nephew.
Liturgical Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Father Thomas Stroot officiating the family will receive friends following the service until 8 p.m. The casket will remain closed at all times. Graveside services will be noon on Friday June 20 at the Greenton Cemetery in Odessa, MO with Father Matthew Brumleve officiating.
