Scott David Varvel 34, passed away July 24, 2014 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Scott was born in Burlington, KS on November 15, 1979. He graduated a year early from Leroy High School, where he grew up most of his life. He attended a semester at Pittsburg State University for Technology. He will be missed dearly for the times he could make you laugh when you were feeling low. His true passions was spending his time with his son, and playing his guitar with his drummer buddy, Jason Jones. When Scott loved, he loved with his entire soul.
He is survived by his beloved son, Zane Tyler Varvel, his parents, Janice and David Varvel, of Leroy, Kansas. Brothers, Kyle Varvel, Donnie Gammons. Sisters, Julie Rohrer, and Lori Gutsch. Aunts, Barbara McDonald, Sandra Mefford, Linda Maloney, Cheryl Canfield, and Carol Stair. Uncles, Doug Cranor and Matt Cranor. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Dorothea Varvel (who loved him very dearly) and an aunt, Sereina Cranor.
A memorial service was already held on August 2, 2014 in Pittsburg in celebration of his life and his music. He will be cremated and will be released into the Neosho River near Leroy, Kansas per his wishes. Any memorial contributions can be made for his son, Zane Varvel Education Fund, in care of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
