Richard D. Hibler, age 72, of Mazon, passed away suddenly July 13, 2014, in Paris, MO. Born Feb. 9, 1942, in Joliet, Richard was a former resident of Lockport and Wilmington.
He was employed at the Joliet Arsenal, and later retired as a union pipe fitter, where he worked Quality Control at several nuclear plants. Richard enjoyed raising and showing Appaloosa horses in his younger years, and took great pleasure in fishing, gardening and making his famous dill pickles. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee, conversation, and spending time with his grandson.
Survivors include daughters, Kim Hibler of Diamond and Pamela(James) Hazzard of Mazon; grandson Cody Hazzard; sister Barbara (Derral) Snyder of Joliet; one niece, two nephews and several aunts and uncles.
Richard was preceded by his parents Charles, Sr. and Margaret Hibler, and brothers: Charles, Jr. and Michael Hibler.
Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 26th from 11a.m. until time of memorial service 1:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. (815-476-2181)
