Adam David Walker, age 26, of Yorkville, passed away peacefully at home on Monday evening, June 23, 2014.
Born in Morris, Illinois on February 20, 1988, Adam was the son of Karen (Gordon) and Richard Poppleton and Robert Walker.
Adam graduated from Newark High School with the Class of 2006. He was a former pressman at the Morris Daily Herald and most recently worked at Lakewood Nursing Home in Plainfield and as a part-time firefighter with the Sugar Grove Fire Department and a volunteer firefighter with the Lisbon Seward Fire Department. He was a dedicated firefighter who had a "big heart," willing to help anyone in need. Adam appeared in the television show Chicago Fire. He was going to school to become an instructor for firefighting.
Surviving is his longtime fianc e, Lauren Munson; his parents; his step-father, Richard Poppleton; sisters, Abby (Matt) Winke and Katie (fianc Chris) Wagner, and brother, Riley Poppleton; half-siblings, Justin, Gayle, Jakobe, and Kristofer Walker; step-siblings, Michael (Savannah) Poppleton, Heather Poppleton, and Brandy Johnson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Adam also leaves behind his beloved furry baby, Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Dell Gordon.
Memorials may be made in Adam's name to the Lisbon Seward Fire Department and Sugar Grove Fire Departments.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, located at 301 W. Washington Street, Morris. A Celebration of Adam's life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Luke Emerson from the Newark Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Mazon.
