Harriet C. Osmundson, 95, of Morris, passed away Friday afternoon, December 7, 2018 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Center in Morris.
Born October 19, 1923 in Morris, she was the daughter of Herman and Mildred(Knudtson)Guard. She graduated from Morris High School with the class of 1941. Harriet married Gordon Osmundson on May 15, 1943 in Fort Benning, Ga. She was employed at Allen Furniture as a bookkeeper and at Walter Jacobsen Income Tax.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandy(Chuck) Wallace of Chandler, AZ and Linda(Dan) Hanson of Morris; five grandchildren, Shari (Ken) Sias, Steve (Laurie) Hextell, Holly (Mike Scroggins) Hanson, Sally Hanson and Kevin (Mary) Hanson; five great grandchildren, Mike (Tonya) Sias, Emma Werden, Tessa Werden, Cody Hextell and Austin Hextell; one great, great grandson, Mason Sias; sister, Cheryl (Tom) Peterson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Gordon in 2014; son-in-law, John Hextell; brother, Mervin (Margaret) Guard; sister, Lorraine (Milford) Jorstad; sister-in-law, Frances (Leonard) Koerner; niece, Barbara Koerner.
She was a member of Friends in Christ Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the Morris Hospital.
Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehab Ctr. and my best friend, Mary Smith.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friends in Christ Lutheran Church in Morris with Pastor Mark Willig officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Inurnment will take place at Saratoga Cemetery.
